In a society that values youth above all else, the elderly are often forgotten and neglected. Healthier lifestyles and modern medicine are allowing people to live much longer than they ever used to.

While you may expect that elderly people are enjoying their retirement, unfortunately many simply cannot afford the cost of adequate care, as Taryn Springhall of Care Company explains. “While ‘old age’ homes do an excellent job of looking after residents, for some people it is just too expensive. We also find that a lot of people prefer to stay in their own homes.”

CareCompany lends a helping hand to senior citizens, by assisting them to maintain their independence and quality of life. “Sometimes that means popping in for a visit and making a light meal, taking them to doctor’s appointments, taking them shopping or to the library, post office or hairdresser or having a chat over a cup of tea.”
